DC-Sat.Net’s live MPEG-4 video delivery service, VSNG, which uses low-cost satellite technology, will be on show at Broadcast LIVE & VideoForum 2008.

Primarily designed for News Journalists and the smaller cable and satellite Channel Operators, VSNG represents a compelling content delivery technology due to levels of economy, quality and availability. Video feeds are deliverable to the London Media Gateway (LMG) and Facility Line Networks, as well as to any destination on the web.

The system will be on display this year in the form of the Galaxy VJ- a low profile MPV, modified to include an automated satellite system, MPEG-4 encoders, full onboard power and racking- a full production and broadcast vehicle available for sub-£50K.

To date, the system has contributed to numerous live contribution feeds to TV for News Programs, as well as providing the mobile Video Journalist with connectivity for “store-and-forward” applications.

John Angeli, Multimedia Editor at The Press Association, comments, "With our DC-Sat.Net satellite vehicle we now have the ability to transmit our store-and-forward rushes and news clips, and to deliver live broadcast from the story's location.”

On the subject of how the system has contributed to stream-lining the production process, he continues,
“The process has been simplified to enable a single-operator to film, edit and upload a story with remote support from DC-Sat.Net if required."
